Please check the model number of your camcorder; both the Canon website and Google refuse to accept that there's an 'h30' model.
Alternatively please tell us whether your camcorder is analogue (using tapes) or digital (using memory cards) and what steps you've taken to try to get videos to your laptop.

If your camcorder uses tapes the output is analogue and can't be fed directly into a computer. You need to convert the signal to digital first, using something like this:

Even if I ignore a link, at the end of your post, which seems to have absolutely nothing to do with your question, you seem to be moving the goalposts!
Your original questions asks about getting a video recording to your laptop. Your TV shouldn't come into it! You need to play the tape in the camcorder, connecting either the three RCA ('phono') leads or the single S-VHS lead to it (depending upon the type of output offered by the camcorder) and inserting the other end of the device into a USB socket on your laptop (while running the capture software that comes with the device).
