Gta5 Update Problem
Saturday wasn't a great day for gaming! My daughter downloaded Monument Valley to her iPod and it won't launch.
I treated myself to GTA5, which I'd been umming and ahing about since its launch. Xana wanted to some DVDs so we went to one of the exchange shops that stocks used games and I finally succumbed.
Inevitably, on loading the game I was informed of the need to update the software, and clicked OK. The result - nothing; just a blank TV screen. I left it for 10 minutes to see if it was just a slow connection, but with nothing happening after that time I thought it best to cancel using the controller. No response, still a blank screen. Worse, I then found I couldn't even shut the PS3 down using the power button; all I could do was pull the power cable out of the back.
I've got the receipt for the game so I can exchange it, but I'm wondering what the likelihood is that it's just a rogue disc. Could there be some other reason?
The PS3 was successfully signed in and all other online functions were fine.
