Ebay Are Changing Their Pricing Structure
3 Answers
To those who sell on eBay:
I've just had notification from eBay that they are changing their listing fee structure from mid-May.
Everything (bar a few exceptions) will be 35p. to list. They are doing away altogether with the 100 free listings under 99p start price. This means that those of us who often bung a load of small things on with a 99p start price, just to get rid of them, will still have to pay 35p to list them, it won't be worth it.
I guess they are doing it to stem the thousands of 99p items on the site, but it does mean my start prices will be going up, to allow for this. They don't say if they are doing away with the free listing weekends from time to time - I hope not!

You'll still get some FL, just not 100 of them. That is, IMO and VERY good thing
It is reduced to 20 and you'll get them every month. Insertion fees only come into play after your 20 FL
All of this will, hopefully, weedle out those private sellers who list for 99p and are the surprised when it only sells for 99 when they actually wanted a lot more for their item.
Oh and don't forget to go alongside this you will now have to pay a FVF on your item if you end the listing early
Read here for the exact changes so you will know exactly what you will be getting

You're right, OJ. It's the FL which I hope will continue (as well as the 20 per month) since I can list about 40 things on an FL weekend. The 35p against the value of a small item with a start price of less than a couple of quid may make it not worth listing, especially taking into the account the fee on the FVF and the individious fee on the postage charge, which I see is to remain :-(
