After agreeing to download Adobe updated version I notice that Google Chrome was downloading at the same time. Being a thicko I didn't know if this should be happening. Since then I have the Mitsubish site gatecrashing sites I visit and won't let me delete it. Help !!Whats happening?

Yes. Every time Adobe asks you to update, it puts a sneaky automatic download of Chrome on the front page. It's a tickbox that's already ticked. Next time, be sure to untick that box. I had to remove Chrome twice before I realised.

To remove Chrome, do it from the Control Panel as you would normally. Reply here if you'd like instructions.

Is 'Mitsubishi' appearing as a 'pop-up' Advert ?. Also what Browser are you using ?. Please give as much information as possible.

Thank you for your help SeaJayPea and HansUrbancka. Mitsubishi just appears as a whole page and when I right click, the menu that comes up doesn't include 'delete' I am using Google as a browser but not Google Chrome in case it gatecrashes Answerbank and I can't see your advice. I'll try to remove Chrome as you suggest and if I get in a pickle I might just be shouting for help again. Thanks.

If you are Not using Google Chrome then you are only utilising Google as a Search engine and Not as a Browser. It is my guess that you are using Internet Explorer as your default Browser and Google is your Search Engine.

Anyway, tell me what operating system you have (Windows XP, Vista, W7 or whatever) and I will endeavour to try and help solve your problem which I feel sure will involve an approach as suggested by SeaJayPea of entering your Control Panel to remove Google Chrome which you appear to have downloaded with Adobe.

Do you have an Anti Virus programme?. If so, has a scan produced anything?.

You are right Internet Explorer is the browser. I'm not too clever at computers.
I have, after reading your advice, uninstalled Chrome. Mitsubishiconfit.com is still appearing and it is also appearing on my Kindle Fire now. It seems to be appearing on a site I use most frequently. Google gives me the site and instantly Misubishiconfit com takes over the screen completely. I have Windows XP and have Kaspersky firewall installed. Just now I have run a quick scan which has shown nothing. I am so grateful for your interest and advice.

It is my wish to be as helpful as possible to you. Unfortunately, I am unable to find out anything about Mitsubishiconfit.com and, as you now have it also on your Kindle, I must assume that it has been downloaded from a site which you use regularly and have had to register to access the site as a member.

The item is unlikely to be a a virus which I feel sure would have been observed by Kasperksy, but is some form of Malware. Consequently I suggest that you download and run a scan with the free edition of Malwarebytes, and report back in this thread. Do Not accept any trial of the Pro version which is unnecessary for Home Computers.:-

I'm guessing it's Mitsubishiconfort, rather than confit. That seems to be a recognised bit of malware. A quick scan on Google gives a number of places that claim to be able to remove it. One of them is Malwarebytes.

Try that first and come back to let us know how you get on.
