Hello again
Since solving my recent problems with slow starting I now have another! Every time I go into a website it asks me to enter my password details. Even though I tick the box to 'remember' this does not work.

I have not changed my 'privacy' settings which are still set to medium to allow cookies which I understand are the 'little blighters' that work with password retention? I tried changing 'privacy' to low which allows all cookies but this does not make any difference.

What has happened since the other day when all the passwords were saved?

All I have done is a defrag and re-installed my Kaspersky Security.

Thanks all

I just moved to W7 and am having the same problem, here on Answerbank too - no help, but I sympathise, and hope someone knows.
When you say that you have changed the privacy settings for cookies is that a browser setting?

(browser = Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari or something else)
bibblebub; moggie hasn't yet replied, but I am using internet explorer 11 and whereas Answerbank has recognised my computer for years and signed me in straight away, since W7 was installed last week I now have to sign in each visit - no very big deal, but I wonder why that is.
I think it comes under Autocomplete on IE11

Try this. Start IE11 go to Tools/Internet Options/Content/AutoComplete/ Settings. Make sure you've got 'ticks' in 'User names and passwords on forms' and 'Ask me before saving passwords' and then click OK and Apply where necessary.
S.A.; 'User names and passwords on forms' wasn't ticked, I did so, - 'OK' ,
then re-booted, but I still have to sign in to get here, :-(

I'm using the dratted IE11 to post this and mine works fine ☺☺☺. On the sign page of AB have you put a 'tick' in the box to remember you?

Also, once you have signed in, bookmark AB again in your favorites shutdown IE and then restart. Go to AB via your new favorite. Lets know how you do?

Sheesh, I'm going back to FF now!
I have never used Kaspersky but I presume from the question that some of its settings are for cookie retention. But then there are also cookie policy settings within a browser, which is the main user of cookies. Updates to either software might have (but not necessarily must have) resulted in their settings being set back to defaults, so both places need to be checked.
S.A.; Box was ticked and tried what you suggested but ..... :-(
maddening!

Got me guessing as well. Bibblebub might have a step in the right direction, check Kasperky's settings.

IE11 security settings are set to Medium High for me.
SlackAlice; After a week of having to enter my name and password I went back to, auto complete/settings as you advised on 11:36 Fri 18th, and ticked 'Forms' and can now enter without signing in with name and password :-) moggie939 please note.
Update; While it worked a couple of times, it has now reverted to me having to sign in and on other sites too :-(
