Thanks to all who have helped and after not giving up am today connected to my wifi
My question now is that I am also connected via an USB wire to my computer. do I still need this connected or should I unplug it and go with only wifi. .
as you can tell am still in the dark ages as all this technology is a mystery and thanks to answerbank for all the help i get on all my problems

My link (from my 3rd post) in your previous thread shows that your printer is designed to work with EITHER a USB connection or a wireless one but NOT both. (For Hans: Ian4 needs to use the printer with an iPad, as well as his PC, so he's forced to use the wi-fi option). Leaving the USB lead plugged in will be, at best, pointless or, at worst, risk your PC sending conflicting messages to your printer.
