How Do A Tag A Business On Google Maps

I've heard it's a great way to boost your SEO and it also puts you on the map. I've followed the process three times now and saved, but I'm still not there.

I've also discovered that you need to register with the local listings, they then send a verification code out to you by post. Which now makes perfect sense, otherwise every business would just be randomly tagging themselves all over the UK. Sometimes my dimness knows no bounds.

I dont think you can tag a business on google maps. But still i want to know the further details if any one can do it and want to know the process if successful
