Rkill
I have run Malwarebytes which has identified a number of PUPs. At the moment these are safely quarantined but not yet removed.
I have been told to also download and RKill but when I tried to do this I immediately got a message saying "This file is malicious and Chrome has blocked it".
Questions:-
Do I need RKill?
What am I doing wrong in the download process?
How should I do it?

Thank you all for your replies.
I ran Malwarebytes (malwarebytes.org) and AdwCleaner (from bleepingcomputer.com) and it was on this site that I saw the recommendation to run Rkill.
I have previously used Adwcleaner to get rid of inadvertently installed toolbars and the like but had not even looked at Rkill before.
Now I have all your comments my curiosity is satisfied!
