Talktalk Blocking Some Websites
9 Answers
Hi, I have TalkTalk as my ISP and have HomeSafe on my computer. Unfortunately, it's blocking some websites which are quite innocuous, a shopping website for instance. I've turned everything off on HomeSafe but it's still blocking. Even the 'allow website' button doesn't work.
My gripe is that when I contacted TalkTalk via Live Chat I was told that someone would have to ring me and an appointment was made for between 10-12 today. Needless to say, the call never came. Their customer service is totally useless so I should have known tbh.
My question is: does anyone have any idea what I could do to stop this blocking or is it up to TalkTalk to sort it?
Thanks for any help.

It seem to be that 'Homesafe' is somewhat unsafe and only one in three customers have had it installed. Best bet would be to ask TT to remove it from your account and then install a free Anti Virus programme of your own choice; such as AVG, Avast, MSE, etc.
A thought now comes to mind. Have you by any chance an AV programme which is causing a conflict with 'Homesafe'.? If so, all the more reason to get rid of the troublesome 'homesafe'.
Hans.

Thanks for your replies, much appreciated.
Don't know about any conflict Hans, haven't added any new things to my pc and the problem just came on suddenly.
Tried that fender numerous times but it still blocked.
methyl.. I decided to uninstall the F-Secure which is the security for TalkTalk HomeSafe. However, I couldn't find any sign of it on my computer. Did an internet search and came up with a forum on which someone had asked the same question and they'd been given a link to uninstall. I clicked on the link, risky I know, but it worked and now I can get access to the website I wanted.
The customer service woman I spoke to at TalkTalk said that there must have been some problem with the website for it to have been blocked and that I wouldn't be able to access it on any device. Wrong! I used it on my iPad, no problem. She then said 'use your iPad then'. I gave up on her at this point and was determined to find the cause of the problem.
I did what I usually do and search the internet for a solution and found it. Very happy now.
