. Most of the time I click on a link all I get is a blank page but not always can anyone throw some light on the problem If I right click choose copy shortcut and then paste it will go though I would be very grateful for any help Thanks in anticipation

you most likely have a pop -up blocker activated, clicking on a link will open up a new window and this can be classed as a pop-up.  To prevent first take a look at your pop-up bloacker setting if you have one and try and cinfigure to allow pop-ups from the site
