Humax Freeview Recorder Showing Recorded Programmes Under Another Name

My humax freeview recorder has been working great until now, when I set it to record a programme it records it but under another programme name and then some programmes that have recorded correctly under the right programme name have now disappeared. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

I'm no expert, but suspect the renaming problem might be to do with the EPG transmission - your prog runs into the next & is renamed that way.

If recordings are disappearing, it might be that the box is near-full & is deleting the oldest from the list (?)

I'm sure you'll get a more definitive answer from someone, hang in there :-)

The programmes that I have recorded today say the names of programmes that I recorded a couple of weeks ago but when I play it it is the right programme but wrong name. Then some programmes that I recorded last night which were showing correctly then have now disappeared.
I'm sorry, I have no experience with Humax kit, but feel sure that somewhere in the Menus there'll be an option to check how much of the internal disk drive is available/has been used.

If it's nearly full, you might want to consider downloading unwatched (or "want to keep") progs to a USB stick if your box has that connection.

If you've recorded in HD mode, you'll need a larger capacity stick than if you've recorded in SD mode - at least 16G, 32G would be better if you've a lot to transfer.

I'm shooting in the dark here, so am sorry if I'm giving poor advice - as I said before, stick with it & someone that knows will come along :-)
Posting this to bring it back to "Latest Posts" (in the hope that Buenchico or another tech maven is about!)...

From what I can gather, you can't record directly to a USB stick (only transfer recorded material), but if you use the USB port to connect an external hard disk drive I think you should be able to record directly to that - again, the Menus/manual should see you through the procedure.

I realise you might not want to suffer the expenditure involved & can only hope that someone else sees this!
We have a Humax and did suffer something similar. When I actually checked the hard drive, it was completely full and therefore had to remove all the recorded programmes and start again with a blank drive. Problem sorted. Hope our solution will sort your problem,
