Is it possible to unlock home wifi for an individual without making it available to all and sundry?

Only give password access to those you want to
The access code is likely to be on a sticker on the hub or router. Give the person that code and they will be able to log in to your secure wifi.
Most of our family and friends have access to our wifi, we just tell them the password. Provided it's been set up securely only people knowing the password will be able to use it.

Many thanks - I didn't realise it was that simple. Yes, I have the password securely.
