Jon Snow's Take On Gaza

I have yet to master the art of getting You Tube clips using an iPad.
The clip of Jon Snow's bulletin is excellent IMHO.
Take a couple of minutes to watch.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Eccles, on Youtube tap the three little dashes on the LHS, on the drop down menu go for Desktop, you can then find the video and copy and paste as normal. You probably won't be able to watch it on the iPad in this mode but the link should work. If you're using the app, I don't think you'll be able to do links.
There has been some debate about fortune telling on here recently, and I am going to have a go at predicting the future.
Soon, but not just yet, Israel will stop their armed assault on Gaza, and it will all go (relatively) quiet for a year or two. America will continue to support Israel, as it dare not do anything else, as the Jewish vote is all-powerful in Washington.
The Palestinians will lick their wounds for a while and then start lobbing rockets over the border again. Israel will threaten for a few days but Hamas will take not notice, so Israel will start another offensive.
This cycle will continue for the foreseeable future, as nobody takes any notice of the United Nations, the very organisation that gave Israel statehood in the first place, in 1948-9.
If anyone has found a new way out of this horrible mess, they must be keeping it to themselves.

It doesn't actually make any sense for them to get around a table and talk. The two sides hate each other and want the other to die.
In those circumstances the logical thing for them to do is fire rockets at each other, which is what they're doing.
Not quite so logical for Hamas of course because their rockets don't do anything, except the ones that land on their own people.
The disgraceful thing is that so many innocent people are victims of the violence. They're obviously seen as acceptable collateral damage by both sides.
