Help I Thought It Was Too Good To Be True.

All was going well with 3 CD's that I ripped and burned and then it all went downhill.
The 4th one I thought I had ripped but there was no sign of it in the library.
Now the drawer keeps opening , when I try to rip another CD, the rip tab has gone and a message says that I cant rip the inserted CD.
Can you please help me to get back to the factory setting, as was, before I somehow messed it up. ( I did not even try lol ).

The first thing that comes to mind is that the pc doesn't 'recognise' the cd - it is faulty or an unrecognised format.

Try giving the cd a wipe with a clean cloth, it could be dirty.

Can you play the cd in the pc or any other player? If you have a dvd player under your tv try it in that, or in the car cd player.

It is one of 4 the other 3 were fine. Seems to be playing ok, yes.

Turn it off and restart the computer, tamaris - that's rebooting.

Oh right I did turn it off and restarted Boxtops but I still cant see the rip tab

A box is appearing saying..............windows media player cannot rip one or more tracks from the CD

Sounds like that CD is protected..can't be copied...try putting in one you've already copied to test...

I did that MM and yes it is true, I cannot copy that one which is a nuisance as it is the 4th one in the set x

There are ways around it which mean downloading quite complex stuff...if you have a friendly wee computer techie shop they may do it for you ?
