Using Libreoffice Calc Spreadsheet As A Databank/database (Db)
Hello, Having often heard that a spreadsheet can be used as a databank, I was wondering how one broadly sets up such a system. After all, a DB is only a set of tables with a common interface, isn't it? ._._ I was wondering how to create a dynamic, constantly changing DB of my music media (cassettes, LPs, CDs, DVDs) and of assorted recordings from TV, which are primarily on DVDs. ._._ Can anybody please point me in the right direction on this? (P.S. I use LibreOffice Calc frequently.) Many thanks.

I have fumbled my way through putting data into a spreadsheet in the past (Excel) but shall leave you to await more expert advice. Although personally I'd suggest if you have a database application, might be best to learn that well, than coerce a spreadsheet into doing the job.

You could use a spreadsheet to create lists - you could even use a word processor for the same task - but why on earth would you want to when you have a proper database application just waiting to be used?
