Answerbank Freezes On Internet Explorer.
10 Answers
My Default Browser is Firefox which very rarely causes any problems, being fully protected from advert annoyances. However, during the last few days, I have been using Internet Explorer (fully loaded with adverts) to see if there is a particular advert which is responsible for the recent rising from the dead of the Fake Java.
The only thing I can report is that IE 9 continually freezes when being used for Answerbank and pages have to be re-loaded. Perhaps AB has a compatibility problem with IE.
Anyone else having problems. ?
Hans.

No-one came up with a solution or seemed to care quite frankly apart from advice to switch browsers and that was from Ed. I changed to Chrome and most of the time it's OK, massively better for AB.
I'm sure they know there is some compatibility issue with AB and IE, undoubtedly linked to adverts.

It's a tragedy that folk have to resort to using the unmentionable 'Browser add-on' when partaking of correspondence within AB, because it's the adverts which keep going a wonderful free site. Please don't ask if I use the forbidden AB; my answer could be withdrawn from publication.
Anyway, irrespective of sometimes minor problems, I am of the opinion that we should all occasionally 'click an advert' because it gives a 'hit' which I believe is then somewhere recorded as a credit to AB. However, if some adverts within AB are suspect to being virus/malware ridden, it then becomes risky to click open any advert.
Pity ABAuntie isn't about to comment on matters.

@tamborine.....I am Not getting any problems apart from computer freezing when using IE.
It's Not too difficult for me to sort out computer items involving AB. However I feel sorry for folk who have and some are still being subjected to virus/malware which as been established has come from Adverts within AB......Obviously you have been lucky to avoid the Java junk about which much has been written in AB. Most recently :-
