Provide A Link
I suppose that this quest for advice should really be in the Technical section but I have put it in News because this is where I see links asked for or provided the most. I was asked to provide a link to a story I had read in yahoo News which I posted here last week. I had to confess I did'nt know how to as I am not that computer literate. What little I do know is self taught as I bumble along in the dark. Is it difficult to provide a link from, say, yahoo news and how do you do it in simple non too techy words? TIA

Thanks for all your replies. I've seen my wife cut and paste the wallpaper Bathsheba. That is the extent of my knowledge.I will wait for mem sahib to finish work. I think she does cutting and pasting on this computer and my techy son would definitely know whenever he next visits. Thanks also mazie and danny. See you in a while.
I was going to try + tell you in simple non too techy words, as you asked, retrocop, because I'm pretty useless + had to be reminded how to do it when I came back on here.
Ok, so I've gone into my Yahoo News, + have picked out the story entitled "Scottish referendum is too close to call". Click on that headline,...+ you will see "https://uk.news.yahoo.com/scottish referendum etc in bar at top of page.
If you put your mouse pointer in that bar + click,....it should turn blue.....
are you with me so far?

Ok. So next, right click,....+ a drop-down menu should appear looking like this
Undo
Cut
Copy
Paste
Now,...left-click on either Cut, or Copy,....doesn't really matter,.....then just think of that as being "saved" in your mouse.
Then go to where you want to put link ,.....right click again,....another drop-down menu should appear,....right click on Paste......good luck!

Thank you so much for all your time and patience. I will copy/print your instructions and follow them through. I will let you know on chatterbank how I get on later and may be provide a link of some sort just to show you I cracked it with YOUR help. Wish I could link you a bunch of flowers for your kindness.
Many Thanks again.
