I have a load of video tapes from the 1980's - all recorded from the TV, for boys and girls - seems a shame to chuck them all out - anyone got any bright ideas for me, or is it the recycle bin for them? Obviously no good to a charity shop, cos they won't be able to sell them. Not many folk still have a VCR these days I suppose?

Where abouts do you live? There are very few places that recycles video tapes, one is in Bristol.

You could put them on Freecycle and see if anyone wants them.
Offer them to your local Nursery, or better still, the local Lib / Dem party office, they act like children so these should very good for them.
If they are recorded from the TV then you are not allowed to sell them. You have to recycle or destroy due to copyright laws.
Most people threw theres out years ago. and even our local charity shops had notices on their doors saying do not bring us any video tapes because we only dump them.! If you have recorded them off of the television you wouldnt be allowed to sell them anyway because of copyright laws..
