Can't Upload Anything...

I'm having a major problem with my laptop, and can't seem to upload anything, to anything!

I tried to upload pics to an Ebay listing yesterday and it wouldn't work. It gets so far and then just says 'upload failed'.

Am now trying to attach my CV to an email and it won't upload.

Am using Chrome but have also tried Firefox. Other PC's in the house work fine, it's just mine.

Any ideas?

Is this a wireless connection, if so try a direct cable connection to your router.

Also restart both laptop and router.

It is, yes.

I have no idea how to connect a cable connection, or even what cable I'd need (sorry), but will restart the router now and also my laptop.

CAT5 cable with RJ45 connectors (male to male). Usually yellow or blue and supplied with the router (usually).

Have reset the router, and still no joy.

I'll see if I can find the cable you've mentioned (thanks) but surely I shouldn't have to connect a cable every time I want to upload something?
It's odd because I can upload from my phone no problem via WiFi, but can't on my laptop.
It took me hours yesterday just to list a few things on *** Ebay. Grrr!

You may not need a cable, but we are trying to isolate whether your laptop's wireless connection is crap or a different fault exists on the laptop.
