What is a reflector bulb is it the same as a halogen bulb?

They last much longer supposedly, mine (LED) are guaranteed for 2 years and at £10 each I should hope so, I've got eight in my kitchen and 12 in the lounge
A reflector bulb/lamp is one which is has silvering behind the light source to produce a directional beam (as in the spotlight bulbs that are used for shop displays). They might look like this

The actual light source though, might be tungsten (as in 'good old-fashioned bulbs'), halogen, LED or anything else.
Go for the LED bulbs I've had them for nearly 6 years, cost a lot more at the time but it's the bulb that keeps on giving (a discount on the electricity used) and they light instantly unlike many energy saving bulbs
