Tracing Possible Pension/s

My brother died at age 62, and it seems that in some documents he named me as next-of-kin, though he has a daughter. She is boracic and has little IT, so I'll try to help her find out if her father left any pension pots, and, if so, how she could benefit from this money.
He was a driver, but I don't think I could identify his employers. I know a few old addresses for him, but not his National Insurance number.
Have I a hope of tracing any money for my niece?

I'm not sure being named as 'next of kin' means anything- it's being a named beneficiary in the will that matters. But pension pots are unlikely to be passed on to children- some give a pension to spouses or named partners, so it depends on whohe nominated

if he died intestate remember the daughter is the heiress and so it should all be done in her name

Since I was mentioned as "next of kin" , I thought any pension fund looking for him might contact me when they found he did not respond to letters, etc. As they haven't, I'm wondering if they have any obligation to contact next-of-kin in such a case. It turns out that he was estranged from the daughter, and only got back in touch with her shortly before he died - he would have had no time to change all the paperwork, I imagine.

i suppose if he had a death in service benefit with his pension, that goes to a named person
