As reported on BBC Radio, the guy was hammering on the door of a police station and officers opened the door simply to see what he wanted. He then immediately launched a knife attack upon officers. All French police carry guns on their persons but tasers are far more likely to be in their cars (or in a locked store room within the police station). It would seem unlikely that they had time to go and fetch one.

Tazer? For what exactly? He took on Police Officers, tried to murder them and is now ploughing his way through his 72 virgins, which is what he was aiming for all along. No trial, no ridiculous 15 year but out in 7 and a half sentence and huge savings for the French taxpayer.

I just hope that the wee monkey is okay.

The human was shot because he was a threat to the safety of the officers.

The monkey was in his predicament that he was in because some humans are heartless and they think nothing of discarding unwanted pets/companions. Having said that nobody will get between me and a bar of chocolate.
