Hollyoaks bills itself as the UK's most watched "teenage drama serial". (Just google Hollyoaks to see what I mean, and the proof!).

What other teenage drama serials are made in the UK?

Or is this another case of "only" suddenly meaning "best" or "most watched"?

Grange Hill would count I think, thats probably got the title of longest running teenage series started in 1978 and still going now.

Yeah, I guess so... but I personally don't find them comparable at all. Although technically you're right, and I had considered that an option (even if one I disagree with) so thanks for confirming that others consider it one too! :-)

Hi again, I think you're right that it is the only programme in a small category. Hollyoaks is a soap which is on all year round. It certainly isn't the most watched soap.

There are other programmes aimed at teenagers which fall under the broad heading of 'drama' and I guess you'd include Grange Hill and Byker grove in them. But, they are on for a limited series time each year so it's hardly a level playing field.

PR and marketing - such valuable concepts...
