Which magazine says Hitachi don't make TVs any more, they are all made by other companies and just badged.
Here is what they say about Hitachi TVs
Hitachi attracts customers on price rather than with high design or the prestige of its brand. The company - which outsourced its TV manufacturing in 2011 after 56 years due to tough market conditions - sells branded TVs with plenty of features for the price. Unfortunately though, we often discover poor picture and sound quality when we test them. Some Hitachi TVs are so poor we name them as Don’t Buys.
Hitachi comes bottom of the class in our reliability surveys, and its Which? reliability score of 67% compares unfavourably with Panasonic's 89%. Hitachi TVs may be cheap, but just 65% of them stay fault free in the first five years of ownership, compared to 85% of Panasonic sets.
