I got a new phone for Christmas (LG G2 mini), but the catalogue it was ordered from was unable to provide the requested SIM Card. I bought one today-an o2 PAYG-from the local corner shop, but since inserting it it's had nothing but "No Service-Emergency Calls Only" flashing up on screen, meaning I can't make any calls or texts.
take out battery and check you have put sim card in correctly. Reset the phone and see if it works. Do have credit on the phone? Also, is the phone locked to any network?
There's no credit on the phone because I need to call a number to activate the top up card, but there's no service so I can't make calls. The SIM is acknowledged in the phone, but it just keeps saying No Service.
Have you actually tried ringing the top-up number? I know it says "no service" but, if it will allow emergency calls, maybe the top-up number is allowed as well.
Just contacted o2 and it turns out the expiry date for activating the SIM Card was last month, so that seems to be why it's not working! Will have to let the shop know and find a new, better SIM Card.
Thank you for all the help guys. Fingers crossed my next one is better!
