Can't Connect To Facebook

On my laptop running Win8 and IE - all is fine and dandy :)

I have a desktop PC, running Win XP, that I use mainly just for storing photos, etc.
I just tried connecting to Facebook on IE and got the message "this page cannot be displayed" .... it's as if I'm not connected to the internet, although I can still connect to other sites, such as BBC, Ebay etc. using IE.
So I thought I'd try using Firefox and I CAN connect to Facebook - what gives ??
I'm sure I could connect the last time I tried it, although admittedly it might have been a while ago ....
Why just the problem with Facebook on IE and no other issues ??

I'ts sometimes an issue with explorer I get the same.

To anyone else I'd suggest Malware but you are clued up enough to have discounted that. The mind does boggle.

I can connect on my laptop using IE; but not on my PC using IE .... all the other sites that I've tried on my PC are fine.
I suppose it'll just correct itself then ??

I initially thought Malware as well, so I scanned with Trend Micro and Malwarebytes.
Both scans found nothing and it still won't connect to Facebook .... let's see what tomorrow brings .... if I can be bothered to boot my PC up :P
