Spyspotter
This spyware and adware company has identified 102 instances of spyware on my PC and are now asking for $29.95 to rectify. What's my alternative? Could this be a scam? My PC has been throwing up loads of error reports recently...following children's use of the computer. |

You could also do a search for Spybot search & Destroy, these do the same thing at no charge.
If you are running Windows XP, visit www.microsoft.com and download microsoft antispyware and use that.
You have to be running a genuine licensed version of XP to download it.
Does not run on Windows 95/98 or ME.
BTW Birchy are/were you a member of CWL?

Everything is freeware and works well. Personally I run Spyware Blaster, Spyware Guard, Spybot S&D and Lavasoft Ad-Aware. I also use Sygate firewall, AVG free edition and WinPatrol. See these links for details.
