Problem With Yahoo Mail And Mobile/tablet Devices
0 Answers
Some time ago I reported that my iPhone had stopped downloading emails from my Sky (hosted by Yahoo) account. Having tried all the Apple-suggested fixes to no avail, my iPad mail app also stopped working in the same way.
Then I noticed that the iPhone mail app was working again!
Apparently the problem is solved by deleting the mail account on the device and re-adding as a Yahoo (not "other type") account. Doing this involves a verification stage. I suspect Yahoo has done some security tweak internally with unpredictable results. Which might explain why the iPhone has started working again: no doubt it will stop working again at some point in which case I'll have to apply the same fix there also. Having looked at the Sky help pages it also affects Android users too.
Anyway, this is in case anyone has had the same problem, or was desperate for an update ... :-)
