Audio Leads
10 Answers
In order to listen to some old LP records i have borrowed a Sony PS-J20 turntable to hook up to my Sony micro HI-FI system (CMT-CPX1) Is it possible to obtain an audio lead say 3m long with female jacks one end and male the other end. Furniture problems dictate the units must be further apart.

I've just taken a look at the manuals for the two devices and they've both got standard phono sockets (which are 'female' by definition). So you would seem to need just a standard (if somewhat long) phono lead (which has phono plugs, which are always male, at either end).
So I would have expected this to work:

However if you insist on using male-to-female (presumably to extend an existing male-to-male lead) it will still work:

Even so, rather than extending an existing lead, I'd prefer to use an even longer single male-to-male lead:

Thank you for your answer, Buenchico. The existing lead from the turntable has "male" plugs at its end which would normally plug into the "female" phono in connection on the sound system, so I need a female end to connect to the afore-mentioned "male" plugs. I have been unable to find any on E-bay or perhaps I'm not looking in the right places!
