DVD+RW - Finishing Off

I've just brought a DVD Recorder which uses the + Format. The manual indicates that to make the DVD + RW playable on other players you must "finish" it. Yet when I go to the Disk menu the " Finish" option is not available - ie you cannot highlight it.

Anyone who has knowledge of DVD+RW - your help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.
