How do I record Freeview programmes on my video?

you should put a Video tape in the VCR and hit "reccord" at around the same time as the desired programme starts.

 

 

Just make sure that you run the scart from the free view box through the VCR and the VCR cable to the TV, tune the freeview in to he VCR channel and you should be good to go, just make sure you're watching the video channel so u can be sure you reccord the correct programme.

The previous answer is basically OK - this is just to clarify a few points:

1. Ensure that your Freeview box is connected directly to your VCR. (The TV will normally take its feed from the VCR although some Freeview boxes have separate outputs for TV and VCR).

2. Check that the VCR has 'AV' selected as its input channel. (On a few, usually older, VCRs, AV is selected by using Channel 0 but most machines have a button on the remote control which is clearly labelled 'AV'). This will also allow you to use the timer functions on the VCR.

3. Don't forget to check that your Freeview box is switched on and sending the correct programme to your VCR (e.g. Channel 34 for ITV3) - sounds obvious but I've gone wrong here before!

3. With most equipment it is not possible to record one Freeview channel while watching another one (because their is only one digital tuner in the set-up) but, as long as your Freeview box features 'RF loop-through' it should still be possible to watch analogue TV (i.e. BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Channel 4 or Channel 5) on your TV while recording Freeview digital programmes.
