BT Voyager & Norton Internet Security

BT broadband helpdesk have told me that Norton IS is stopping internet access on my PC. Voyager reports connection made but iexplore and ping will not work. Any ideas why?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Disable the firewall within Norton, then try and browse the net or ping and address. Try tracing the route so you can see how far your packets are being sent. E.G. within a cmd promt type tracert www.theanswerbank.co.uk
Make sure you have allowed iexplorer access to the internet in the norton firewall settings. You also have to allow the ping action to use the internet.
