When listening to Iplayer on my Kindle, the music in the background drowns out the words. Any way to get rid of it?

Judging by the frequency of similar complaints (of "foreground music") in the Radio Times, you are not alone in struggling to hear dialogue in BBC productions.
Writing direct to the Beeb is what we should really do - Radio Times is just a magazine, loosely associated with them and all viewer complaints to it are routinely ignored or generate a management reply which merely 'justifies' what was done or suggests they're just going to carry on doing whatever was the cause of complaint.
Or we could try an online petition, to request sound engineers and production staff to be over the age of 30.
