Restore Files From A Backup

I recently had to have spyware removed from my computer which entailed the removal of a programme and its re-instatement unfortunately this evolved the loss of some important files for this programme my question is how do I find the ones I want from a complete windows backup when all are listed by number and are in compressed Zip form without going through everyone to find the ones I require.
