Poster Making

Does anyone know of any decent poster making software, the type that you can just put text and phrases on? I'm redecorating and want to hang my own phrases on the wall but would like it to look good, not just printed out on word if you know what I mean. Free or otherwise.

Any decent DTP program should be suitable. This is excellent - and free! (It's what I use myself):

PS: My recommendation above is fine if you don't want printouts bigger than your printer can handle. If you want a program that allows you to tile A$sheets together to make a big poster, Easy Poster Printer is a popular (and free) choice:
