Forgotten Apple App Password

How do I check or change my apple app password? Every time I want to down load an app it asks for the password and I keep getting it wrong. ( can't think why it is really easy for me to remember) but it doesn't give me an option to change it.

last time it happened I had to take it to the Apple Store and all they did was reset it to factory settings a deleted everything I had on there.

I now have a password again

You just need to put in a wrong password 3 or 4 times and it will then ask you if you want to reset your password.

I have managed it this time. Last time it happened it didn't ask me that it just shut down and the Apple Store bloke reset it to factory settings and I lost everything on it

as spotit says it is a bit of a joke. After a few attempts it says do you want to reset it.
