I turmed on my computer today and I got the message box titled "Install Microsoft DirectX 5.0 with the message "Can't find CD-ROM directory, please select directX 5.0 set up path" an it wants me top point it at the setup for directX. When I cancel the you get the standard "An error has occurred..." etc box and it just sits there. Anyone any idea what's happenned and how to I get around it? It's been working normally for months !

directx is now at ver 9.0c which is a free dl from microsoft.try fetching that down and see if that cures the problem - it will also check its own path for the dl

trouble is matt I can't get past that box, it demands a path so the machine wont start proper so no chance of a net connection. Is there somewhere on the WIN98 CD that I can point it at?
