Web camera not working

Since moving and setting up the PC again, our web camera isn't working. There is power to it as the green light is on, but no picture. My Hubby did knock it onto the floor whilst setting up, how can I tell if it's broken? Thanks

Borrow another web cam from someone and test it with your current pc setup, if it works then your cam is u/s.

It's possible that it's broken from the fall, but before you throw it away, check to make sure that it's plugged into exactly the same USB port as before. I know that they're supposed to be "plug & play" (and someone will probably start shouting at me!), but some USB devices will not load up their drivers if they're not plugged into the same port that they were in when they were originally installed.

Thanks both, will try both possibilities, I only hope hubby remembers which USB port he used originally! He's not senile but has a useless memory, lol
