I'd recommend going for a big name with a decent rep and not going for the cheapest, and definitely not buying one on eBay from China.

Aside from that they are all much of a muchness if 16G is want you want, go for it.
I have this Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation
cheap and does what it says on the tin.
I agree with talbot.

Buy Sandisk - but make sure you get it from a reputable seller - there are a lot of fakes around.

Amazon are OK, 7dayshop are better :)

John Lewis have a Sandisk 3.0 Flash Drive 16 GB at 8.99 but the review makes it sound complicated ...

I assume 16 GB holds twice as much as 8 GB but whatdoes 2.0 or 3.0 mean??
It is the version of the USB used. 3 is faster than 2, but it is backwardly compatible and unlikely to make much difference to you which you choose.
Complicated ?!? You shove it in the socket, the PC finds it, you use it.
It is a very simple thing to use, smurfchops (you can always pop back here and ask for advice if you need it)
2.0 and 3.0 just define the speed that data is transferred - 3.0 is much faster (but only if your laptop has USB 3.0 sockets).

The only way a USB stick is 'complicated' is if you try to use an automatic back up system - used for what you want they are all pretty much 'plug and play'.

Thanks I have two 8 GB which are full now, is it safe to buy from ebay in UK? I think it will be the Sandisk Cruzer Blade for me. They are cheaper than John Lewis oonline !
Do NOT buy this sort of stuff from ebay - even supposedly 'UK' sellers may well be shipping fakes from China.
@Old_G.......it IS complicated, lol :) Believe it or not, I've only ever used a memory stick once, + I kept getting a notice about not safely removing hardware afterwards.
Don't buy from ebay for the reasons given above. You can buy the Sandisk model in Asda and Wilkinson's for around the same price as you see online. I'd buy it from these.
If you photos are precious, why not spring for a proper external hard drive and keep it as a back up for your stuff after you have made the transfer?

Me again. This seems like good value and I can use double points at the moment. Is it as easyto use as the ones mentioned above? 32 GB for £15.00.

smurfy, they are all easy to use. You plug it into the computer who sees it as another hard drive.
.....why did I keep getting a pop-up saying I hadn't safely removed hardware?
