Bush 50" Smart Tv 299 Pounds From Argos, Good Buy Or Not ?
22 Answers
or should i go for a sony, i do not want to spent lots of money on hi tech tv , i want a decent screen and biggish screen for minimal price. is the bush 50' from argos at 299.00 a decent enough buy ?
i also have a freeview android app in house which works off broadband, if i buy new tv is it advisable to buy a good hd lead , gold tipped cable for better picture/viewing ?
currys/pc world tried to sell me one of these gold tipped hd cables recently for approx 90 pounds, they insist it gives better picture but i think it is just a sales tactic. anyone can advise me please as i know nothing about techy stuff.
THANKS

is an Argos-owned name, so the TV is an "own-brand". You get lots of features for a low price because the sets are built-down to the price that will sell well in Argos.
Looked at by itself, it may look OK....compared directly next to a Samsung or LG it will be decidedly mediocre...as much to do with the superior picture-processing electronics as the screen itself.
(Incidentally, Which? always advise to buy a big-brand TV...some own-brand and supermarket-only TVs are dire! And....Sony isn't the TV brand it once was....eclipsed by Samsung, LG and Panasonic. Sony can be good but pricey).
Expensive cables can make a small difference to quality....buy ONLY if the system they're in is a very expensive one with all top-end units....
My friend has a cheap tv and I have a Panasonic. Their tv shows black clothing as a solid blob, mine shows the details such as the lapels and button holes. The overall colour in theirs is unnatural even though we've fiddled with the settings. The sound is tinny and horrid at volume. They are both hd.
thankyou
i guess bush is up there with the rest, i just want a cheapish 50" tv im no tech freak , i just like the look and size of it, it looks same as LG or sony only its a bush , bush is a better brand name than tecknika or any other of them low cost models.
so £299 is a good deal for a 50" i think .

i have currently a matsui 42" plasma, i have had it for 6 years , it is still very good and good picture though as i say i am not really worried about a sharp hi quality picture, as long as its decent.
