Not all cookies are bad some help you login to your fave sites quicker - I use Firefox and that has easy options to just delete the ones you don't recognise

If you use Firefox or any variants that use the same add-ons then Self-Destructing Cookies https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/self-destructing-cookies/ is very good.

Set up the whitelist in its options for those sites for which you want to retain cookies - maybe because you don't want to log in each time you visit the site or perhaps the website uses cookies to keep display settings that you want to keep - and then cookies for all other websites are automatically deleted once you leave those sites.
