Desktop Display (Wallpaper) Has Shrunk....
22 Answers
Help please. I will state at the start that I am clueless re technical terms, so please bear with me and I will try to describe the problem in the best way I know how.
My screen with the icons down the left, + wallpaper on..(Viggo Mortensen, extremely attractive), has shrunk...there are black margins a couple of inches wide to either side of him.
HP 15-g 094sa laptop (purple)
Windows 8.1
Google Chrome
I'm sure I've missed out some vital info, but no doubt one of the lovely (as most of you are) techy guys ( and gals) will ask me for any details I've omitted.
Many thanks for reading,

Hi hc.
I tried that, but when I right-clicked, I didn't get Properties...the closest option I saw was "screen resolution" so I clicked on that, + there was a "screen resolution* which I clicked on, + it said 1366 X 78 recommended. I clicked on that, + there was a vertical slider, but it was right at the top, on "high".

Like others here, my first thought was that your screen resolution was incorrectly set but 1366 x 768 is correct.
So it might well be a driver problem. Go here and click on 'Check now' to see if HP can spot any missing drivers:
