Does anyone know how to stop donnaplay from taking money from my bank account? I'm sure I haven't bought anything from them but my mini-statement shows donnaplay.com as takivarious amounts from my account.

Thanks in anticipation

You may have signed up inadvertantly. Did you accept a 'free' trial on something?

If it's under a Direct Debit agreement - cancel the agreement with your bank, and invoke the DD Guarantee to reclaim from the bank for payments made.

Is it possible someone else in the household has subscribed for games/music/films?
Oh, that's nice. As well as taking money from your account, they want you to pay to get them to stop:

Isn't that nice of them!

Contact your bank!
Yes, although that's for the express service

Went the bank and the expert lady there managed to phone donnaplay and found out that I had indeed accepted their free trial offer and then been charged for a month's subscription (to be repeated monthly forever!). When you try to use their cancel procedure you have to pay again, as buenchico said, but the bank clerk got them to cancel it on the phone, I hope.

Hello All Members,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We do like to offer our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience you’ve suffered as a result of this situation.

As stated during our sign-up flow and in our terms and conditions pages, we do offer a free service for 5 days. Additionally, even if you cancel, you get access to a limited selection of our content for free, forever. You always get something out of signing up for our service, even if you don’t end up going for the full subscription. Because of this, we are able to advertise our service as “free.” It is not a scam, and it is not illegal. This is how many online free trials work, including Netflix’s.

You should not be charged anything for having canceled your account. The express cancellation is not mandatory, so if you didn’t select it, you won’t be charged the $0.99 fee we ask of customers who request that their cancellation attempts be pushed to the front of the queue. If you have any problems following your cancellation, email us at: [email protected].

Totally a scam, When I signed it assured me I wouldn't be charged, but my husband called me not long after demanding to know what the charge was. I cancelled my "free" membership to make sure I didn't get any further charges and didn't fall for the "expedited" ploy, but If I get another charge I will report it to my credit card company as unauthorized and make sure the credit card company never authorizes another charge from them for anyone again!
