Virgin Media Price Rise....again.....

I've had a letter from Virgin Media today informing me that my bill will increase by £3 in September, but the "great news" is that I will be getting a "brand new channel to enjoy,...BT Sport Europe HD".

This does not thrill me as much as Virgin seem to think it will, so I thought I'd ask for opinions on here.... how reasonable does £60+ a month for Broadband, Phone Line, free landline calls,Tivo Box, + TV Ex Large package sound?

I had the letter yesterday, phoned them up and complained very loudly. The've frozen the rise for 12 months for me.

I don't really have a choice, I'm stuck with Virgin as the fasted speed I can get with any other supplier is 3Mbps.

How do I find out what my speed is please, just out of interest?

If you log in to your Virgin account you will see what you should be getting, if you use this you will see what you are getting..

Bear in mind if you are using wifi it will not be as fast as ethernet

With Wi-fi I am getting 46.4 download & 3.07 upload.

Oh, think I know what you mean, hc,...in My Virgin Media account it says I'm on Super Speedy, up to 50Mb......:)

Log in to your Virgin Media account page and you will see what speed you are paying for - 30, 50, 100, 150 or whatever their choices are these days.

The upload speeds are VERY slow at the moment - should be around 12 - 13. Mine is 3 or 4 at the moment, too.

Bathsheba, the figures mean nothing to me either. My download is 6.06Mbps and upload is 0.70Mbps. Are these really, really slow?

@hc...I'm wireless.
It's the TV that I'm morte interested in,..I'd rather have some more decent film channels thatn sport,....like Premiere, + Showcase. Just noticed there's a Tom Cruiser channel???, + I'm sure Movies for Men contravenes some equal opp laws......;)
