Smart Phones

My family are trying to persuade me to change my mobile phone to
smart phone, and I am very tempted. Sadly I am rather hard of
hearing. As my Greenmark as quite a large ringing tone, I went in
search of a smart phone with the same volume! no joy, and the two
shops I enquired in said that no smart phones that they sold had not
the volume that I required.
My question is does anyone have an answer for my problem?

No real idea; but I do know there are apps you can download that claim to increase volume. Whether that includes the ring tone I don't know.

Most android phone allow you to use your own audio as a ringtone. You can select a really loud track, and set the volume to max, and then use an app like Volume Locker to ensure that it never gets turned down accidentally.

On an iPhone you can set the very bright flash to go off when a call / text / message comes through.
