We have two laptops, one running Windows 8.1 and another running Vista. On the newer laptops I have lost all my Outlook contacts; this older one, my phone and Kindle Fire are OK. I've tried the ususal advice about opening the People folder and ticking the Restore Deleted Contacts, but when I click on People no options appear. Does anyone have any ideas? TIA.
If your contacts have been lost for more than 30 days you cant recover them. Does that apply - if not maybe copy over from your phone - if you can tell us which one it is there should be a way of doing that.
Oh I thought you meant both laptops as you pluralised it. if you have the vista one still you can export your contacts from the Vista machine and import them to the other one.
How do I export my contacts from the Vista to the 8.1? When I go to the People page, the option to add contacts etc doesn't appear, I get the orange banner and nothing else.
Open Outlook and click File > Options.
When the Outlook Options window opens, click Advanced. ...
In the Import and Export Wizard window, select the Export to a file option, then click Next. A stick is best
Importing them back to your new machine is just the opposite
