Connecting An Android Phone.
6 Answers
Ok my minds gone blank. I'm running Windows 10 and I have just connected a Samsung Galaxy J1 to it. At first there was no connection*beep* so I plugged it into another usb port. It sprang into life but I can't find it. It's not showing on the taskbar or in the hidden icons. I have looked in file explorer but it isn't showing in there either.
I'm new to W10 and this phone is new too. Are they compatible and if so what am I doing wrong?

Turn off your computer. Remove the phone from the USB socket. Turn your computer back on again. Go to Disk Management again. If there's now only one D drive that must be a drive within your computer (such as a partition on your hard drive or an optical drive of some sort). Close Disk Management and plug your phone in. Assuming that it still doesn't appear via 'This PC', go back to Disk Management. If you've now got a second D drive, the new one must definitely be your phone. Give it a different letter (as per my link above) and all should be well.
Hm, did all that i.e turned off, removed phone, turned back on again, but there is still two 'D' drives. I plugged the phone back in to see if anything was added, but no.
Something different this time tho. When I plugged the phone in again a usb icon appeared in the taskbar. When I hover over it I get the unplug message, then it disappears.
Other than that....no difference.
