when using a usb mouse on my laptop is it possible to turn off the touchpad which I am constantly catching with my knuckles when using the keyboard ?

depends on the make of laptop, i can toggle it on and off using Fn and F7 together

open control panel by right clicking windows
symbol at bottom left. click on mouse.
click on device settings and put a tick in box
by disable pointing device when usb device
is attached.
click on apply then click on OK
