Ipad Photos How To Back Up

I have photos on my ipad and copy them to my laptop from time to time, to back up on my memory stick. I also leave them on my ipad and my laptop. I dont have an iphone. My laptop just said i have 1.11 gb free of 14.7 gb on my ipad. Does this mean my ipad photos are nearly full? Icloud asks me to back up and then wants me to pay. What I need to know is, is there a free and easy to use back up website where I can store and find all my photos easily from my Ipad in case my ipad gets full? Also when I save photos from my ipad to my laptop, I get four files all with different sets of photos which are all on my ipad. Why isnt there just one file with all my ipad photos, all together? It is a bit confusing, I am not technical at all. Any help greatly appreciated.

Does it have to be cloud storage, is there another site where I can store all my photos for free? Or should I just use the good old memory stick? And when my ipad photos are full, I just delete them??

that's what I'd do smurfy. I have got cloud storage and use it, but anything I really don't want to lose is backed up on physical media....twice....and the media aren't stored together.
