Fluoesent Lamps

I posted this in chatterBank but got no reply so will try it on here.

My good friend is trying to save the planet by going "green" and has a standard lamp
that she uses to read with, she has a 1 watt large edison screw fluoresent lamp in it but says this is still too bright and wants to know if there is another e/s fluoesent lamp she can put in it that won't be so bright, any ideas please?

I have never heard of a bulb less than 1 watt, are you sure it is 1 watt?

9 watt is the lowest power low energy bulb I have seen

Yiu can get 4W LED lamps - equivalent to a 40W tungsten bulb. A big selection from Clas Ohlson.

You can get converters for edison screw - small to large, large to small, to bayonet etc.

Thanks to everyone that answered, I will check with my friend that she has got it right, however the bloke next door says he has a 0.5 watt fluoresent lamp with an edison screw base.

maybe it may have helped if you spelt FLUORESCENT - that mighta helped. LOL
